character types
FAERIE; these characters should be petit, smaller than normal human beings. They're usually not taller than five feet, and are very light. They are elemental, and mostly are color coordinated. Water = blue, fire = red, dark = purple/black, light = white, green = flora. These faeries will come from different parts. They are the same species, meaning they can reproduce with one another and create a hybrid cross of the two elements, but the hybrid would be sterile and unable to reproduce. Crosses such as water and fire elements would be very weak, seeing that their two combined elements would cancel each other out. A more powerful cross would be something like water and light, or dark and fire, the system isn't too hard to figure out, but if you're having trouble understanding it, feel free to ask!
powers: Faeries are able to create the illusion that they are exremely tiny. This is a very good hiding technique. Their smallest size is usually around the same size as their thumb in their full size. They can also fly, but only in short distances due to the frailty of their wings. They are very thin and usually coincide with their elemental color. They can be hidden with the faerie's magic of illusion. How that works is, people usually look but don't really see. Faeries can express a small amount of mind control which can be sent out in a radius around them, depending on how strong they are but usually is only needed to be used on people who are close enough to see them, to convince these people to not look at their wings, to not see them. They will be able to see them if the faerie wants them to. Faerie dust is another thing, which has little point but is cool to play with. And being the playful creatures they are, they usually like to play with it. It matches their elemental color, sometimes varying in shade depending on the faerie, glows, and is cool to the touch, should it land on your flesh. It fades away after a moment and leaves no mark, and can do no harm.

GEISHA; we all have a pretty good idea what geisha are, if not, I'm sure anything you need to know can be found on wikipedia. As I said before, we're not being too hardcore about all the details here. Like if you don't know anything about the tea ceremony - neither do I. Who cares? The few things with the geisha characters would be that their ages would have to fit properly. No 26 year old maiko's. No really young geiko's, etc. For this, if you can find a pb who has pictures of herself dressed as geisha and not as geisha, that'd be lovely but not required. If you have no pictures of your pb in geisha-like attire, that's also fine. All geisha will be Japanese unless we discuss it and I decide it's alright. There will be no male geisha!

YAKUZA; I'm not going to lie, I know very little about the yakuza except that they're mob-tastic. They're probably brutal, full of tattoos (although not required) and often have business meetings in the tea houses where geisha preform (ochaya). If you play a Yakuza, your character can kill, obviously, but only NPCs! No killing other people's characters. And although in real life you can get kidnapped, raped, and tortured by the mob, you have to OK any sort of extreme scene like that with whoever you're playing with before you beat the hell out of anyone or anything like that, okay? Also, all Yakuza in the game will know each other or be associated with one another. Why? Because we probably won't get enough to say they don't know each other. If you choose to play a Yakuza you will have to specify a ranking position (If that position is not already taken, like I can't have three lead guys and one lackey.) One mob boss, tons of lower ranking but still pretty bad ass Yakuza guys.

VAMPIRE; Our demons of the game. They can be considered a greater evil than the Yakuza. Although, they are creatures of lust and beauty. They hide themselves well, rarely being discovered if they didn't want to be. They have extra sensitive senses, meaning they can see further, run faster, listen more closely, heal at an accelerated rate, and have a sense of smell better than a dog. They're extra strong, extra graceful, and extra quiet as well. They get stronger with age, being able to manage more abilities, such as reading the minds of others. Reading the minds of humans will come easily to a vampire, even moreso if they've had a drink of their blood (this is only at the discretion of the other player, obviously) and they cannot read the minds of other vampires unless they become really strong or are dealing with a really weak vampire. No vampires over 500 years old. Most vampires will have control over the blood they drink from others and take into their own bodies. They will be able to direct it to certain parts of their bodies, such as their face to appear more lively, or a lower region so they can have some vampire lovin. None will be able to withstand the sun. With the sun usually comes sleep, however they can fight it if they want and stay awake. Unfortunately it doesn't do them much good because any sort of sunlight will bother them. They can stay awake all day in a dungeon lit by firelight, but closing the blinds won't really cut it. The light is blinding to them and would burn their eyes. Vampires can not reproduce. They cannot get pregnant nor can they get anyone pregnant. Also, one bite does not change someone into a vampire. For a vampire to give rise to a fledgeling, there must be a full blood exchange between the two, twice, and a three day & night resting period where the vampire would regain his strength and the fledgeling would die a painful death on the first day, rise on the second day, and recooperate on the third. Vampires will physically appear the way they were on the day they died and will never change. Hair can be cut but will grow back by the next night. Vampires usually have a partner. (Marius & Armand, Louie & Lestat, etc..)

VAMPIRE HUNTERS; These guys are a joke, really. Or so the vampires think so. They've been around for about as long as the vampires (The group, anyway, actual vampire slayers are mortal) and they've done a poor job in exterminating the vampires...but they're still trying to come up with ways to kill them. As far as they know the only thing that can truely destroy them is the sun and they haven't had much luck dragging them into the morning since they're extremely weak compared to vampires.

WEREWOLVES; These werewolves will be Twilight style werewolves, since I don't know much about any other sort of werewolves, but they will not change according to full moon, they can change whenever they want. They heal extra fast, their body temperature is extra high, they are mortal, but they are especially strong.

INVOLVED PERSON; It sounds funny, I know, but what this means is someone who is involved with one of the three previous groups, be it the mother of an okiya, the auntie of the tea house, the wife of a mobster, or the human lover or slave of a vampire, your human character is involved.

REGULAR PERSON; These characters are just regular normal people, possibly shop owners, school girls & boys, businessmen, and so on. These characters can live a happy regular life if you want or they can get involved with one of these groups later on.
